In a discussion of how to Ally with the Black community, Erica brings up a very key point that we all must look within ourselves first before we can reach out and truly help others. In this event, we work with Erica to break down the buzzword "Woke". What does it really mean to be "Woke"?

About Erica Danielle
At the age of 29, Erica Danielle was disenchanted with the life she had chosen for herself. Despite attending top-tiered schools and working for premiere U.S. law firms, she woke up to the realization that she not only was struggling with low-grade depression but also suffering from anxiety in both work and social situations,
Though a series of fortunate events, she began to make massive changes in her life, immersing herself in spirituality and personal development work. She eventually left her legal career to study and teach yoga and meditation. She now lives in Amsterdam where she is a life coach, podcaster, and spiritual teacher.

About Let's Talk: Asian x Black Conversations
Let’s Talk is an Asian x Black dialogue series with the goal of opening conversations between the Black and Asian communities. It’s through understanding each other’s struggles that we can come out stronger together. The goal of this series is not to talk about how Asians can support Black Lives Matter or how to fight against Anti-Asian sentiments but more so an exploration and conversation between two groups of people who have different, yet similar experiences.
